I Tried lululemon’s Summer Series in Atlanta — Was It Actually Worth It?
A free yoga class, Atlanta views, the girls, and a Swedish candy bar? Say less.

You know when you see something on your feed and immediately send it to the group chat like, “Waitttt. Should we do this?”
That was me with lululemon’s Summer Series.
A friend had already gone to one of the Atlanta sessions and came back with a good report, so when I saw the next class drop, I sent it to two friends who are also into all things yoga and fitness. They both said yes, which meant we officially had plans.
And honestly, I love when the group chat can turn a random Tuesday scroll into an actual Sunday morning.
There was just one little question in the back of my mind: what would a lululemon wellness event in Atlanta actually feel like?
The brand has had its share of conversations around race, including Black women speaking publicly about their experiences in its stores and allegations of racial profiling. So, as a Black woman interested in wellness and on my own fitness journey, was I hesitant to attend something with the brand name plastered on it? Absolutely.
I was also curious whether this would feel like a generic brand activation or something that actually connected with the city. The local instructor lineup caught my attention, as did the fact that the Summer Series brought different classes and instructors into Atlanta throughout the season. And because apparently we like a little dramatic timing, we ended up at the final Atlanta class of the season.

The Deets
Tickets were free and released through Eventbrite one week before each class at 10 a.m., so if lululemon brings the series back, I would definitely keep an eye on the registration schedule rather than assuming you can decide the morning of.
The final Atlanta session took us to Interlock Tower, where we headed up to the 12th floor for a one-hour yoga class overlooking the city. The setting was very lululemon: clean, polished, minimal, and cute enough that you immediately want to take a few pictures as soon as you settle onto your mat.
Mats and Smartwater were provided, and the staff was friendly and encouraging as everyone arrived and checked in. There wasn't much to figure out once we got there, which I appreciated. We could find our spots, take in the view for a second, mingle and get ready for class.
Soon, the instructor went around the room for quick intros, then got us started by welcoming us and setting some intentions.
Okayyyy, So We Were Actually Doing Yoga
Listen, I have absolutely attended a fitness event where the setup was doing more work than the workout. This was not that.
The class was a high-powered flow that moved quickly enough to feel like I had actually done something with my morning, but it was still approachable enough that I wasn't looking around wondering whether everyone else had secretly been practicing yoga since birth.
If you're newer to yoga, getting back into it after a break, or just want something that gives you a good stretch and sweat without committing to a full-blown studio membership, I could see this being a really good option.
And doing it with your friends makes it feel a little less intimidating. You're all trying to keep up, laughing when somebody loses the flow, and collectively realizing that those cute matching sets don't automatically make you flexible.
The class challenged us enough to feel accomplished without making the experience feel inaccessible, which is probably what I appreciated most.
Fitness with a view of the city
This is probably what I liked most about the Summer Series: it didn't feel like we'd been dropped into a branded event space that could have existed anywhere. We were 12 floors up in Atlanta, moving through a yoga class with the city right outside. Afterward, we had time to take pictures, grab coffee, catch up, and actually enjoy the space before heading out.
That mix of wellness + city + friends is exactly what makes me want to leave the house. I'm not always looking for a huge night out or an all-day itinerary that takes three weeks to plan. Sometimes I want to put on a cute workout set, meet my friends somewhere I've never been, do something good for my body, take some pictures, grab a coffee, and still have plenty of day left afterward. Give me more of that, Atlanta.
And Then We Got Candy
After class, we had the chance to take photos on the stage or in front of the backdrop, which of course meant we were going to do both. Coffee and a Swedish candy bar were also waiting for us, which was probably the last thing I expected after an hour of yoga. Was it the most nutritionally logical post-workout situation? Probably not. Was I mad about it? Not at all.
That said, this was the one part of the experience where I could see an opportunity to make things even better. After a high-energy class, I would have loved to see a few more options alongside the candy and coffee; maybe tea, electrolyte water, granola, or a small snack that gave us a little more nourishment before heading back into our day.
The Swedish candy was definitely a fun touch, and it gave the post-class experience some personality. I just think a few more wellness-forward options would have tied it all together.
Here's the Dill…
What I liked most about the Summer Series wasn't necessarily the branded setup or even the fact that the class was free. It was how easy the event made it to experience Atlanta differently with your people.
You get a reason to text your friends, discover a local instructor, try a new class, see a new space, and spend a Saturday morning doing something that feels a little more intentional than your usual routine.
And honestly, I think adults need more of that after a long week of work and never-ending personal obligations.
Not every weekend needs to be dinner reservations, a major event, or a whole production. Sometimes you just need somebody to make the plan easy enough for the group chat to say yes.
That's what this did.
Would I Meet You Here?
Absolutely.
Would I go to another Summer Series class with my friends? Yes, especially if the next round continues to bring local instructors and interesting Atlanta spaces into the mix.
The workout was genuinely good, the setting made the morning feel special, and I liked that the experience gave us something to do together without requiring a huge commitment of time or money.
More than anything, it reminded me why I love finding things to do around Atlanta in the first place. There are so many ways to experience the city that don't have to revolve around a big night out, and sometimes the best plans are the ones that give you a little movement, a little community, and a reason to put something cute on.
So if you see the next Summer Series pop up on your feed, send it to the group chat.
I'll meet you there.
